Empowering and educating families and individuals on their health

My practice is founded on the principle that health is a personal journey that we explore and continue on throughout our lifetime. I approach health through a naturopathic lens providing individual care that integrates naturopathic and conventional medicine to give you the best care. As we build our toolbox of healthy habits, nutrition, diet, lifestyle we can also build skills in stress management and mindfulness. I primarily start with these foundations for health then add in botanical medicine, nutraceuticals, and medications as necessary.

I enjoy working with the whole family, especially pediatrics. I believe encouraging healthy children and families takes a dedicated approach to instilling healthy lifestyle habits early in life.

Dr. Emily Worden graduated from the naturopathic medicine program at Bastyr University, as well as earned an additional certificate degree from the University of Washington in Rural and Underserved Healthcare.  Her studies have focused on women’s health, pediatrics, and global and public health concerns.  She has embraced natural medicine for over a decade while raising her children.  Part of this due to circumstances that left her on the outside of conventional medicine looking for answers and in part due to the benefits her family experienced in their bodies, minds, and emotions when they embraced what naturopathic medicine had to offer.

Because of her personal experience she is passionate about the accessibility of quality medical care for everyone regardless of their economic status or physical location.  During her education she volunteered with Natural Doctor’s International in Nicaragua where she saw firsthand how a naturopathic clinic can benefit developing countries within the global health sphere.  She has also worked with the local Seattle low income and homeless population through Integrative Care Outreach. She is currently holding the treasurer position on the Board of Directors for ICO.  She has attended numerous Northwest Regional Primary Care Association conferences focusing on migrant health to continue to learn more about healthcare in community based and federally funded clinics.

Her dream for our health system is education and empowerment of individuals to understand their health situation, individualized treatment plans, and interconnectedness between medical disciplines that supports each other’s efforts while keeping in mind the interconnectedness of the human body.  We are made of systems, our body and mind ricochet off one another causing cascades of physiological reactions. She sees her role as a physician to first educate for prevention, diagnose and treat, and when necessary to build a team for her patients that fully addresses their health needs.

She is currently practicing with a team of NDs, acupuncturists, and craniosacral therapists at The Natural Health Clinic in Bellingham, WA. For more information on the clinic visit: http://www.fstreetnaturalhealthclinic.com. You can find her instagram posts under the handle: @nomadnaturalmedicine.

When she’s not working she loves to be outdoors hiking and camping with her husband and three children in the awe inspiring peaks of the Pacific Northwest.  She is an avid runner, is learning to snowboard in the winters, and likes to paddleboard in the summers.  She loves travel, photography, and walking her kids through all the developmental stages to adulthood.
